Patient treatment support

Humanitarian assistance that helps patients, including cancer patients, complete their treatment.

The story

No family carries it alone

A serious diagnosis is heavy enough on its own. For some families in Erbil the harder blow arrives later, when the cost of care grows past what they can pay and finishing treatment stops being possible.

This program exists for that moment. Smile Organization stepped in with humanitarian assistance so a cancer patient could complete their treatment, staying close through hospital care and radiation therapy.

It is quiet work, done in wards and waiting rooms rather than on the street. The promise behind it is the same one that drives all our aid: when a family cannot carry the weight alone, they will not be left to carry it at all.
