The story
Joy, handed over in the street
Ramadan is a month of giving, and Erbil feels it. During the holy month our volunteers load up with gifts and lanterns and head into the streets with one clear purpose: to make people happy.
There is no stage and no ceremony. A child on the pavement gets a lantern. A shopkeeper looks up from his counter and finds a gift waiting on it. The surprise is half the joy.
Like everything Smile Organization does, the caravan hands its gifts over in person, with warmth and without conditions. It is our way of joining a season that already belongs to generosity.
